Therapy can feel like a lot of unknowns at first.
Here are a few questions people commonly ask before getting started.

The Answers are all out there,
we just need to ask the right questions.
 - Oscar Wilde

How do I know if we are a good fit?  Therapy is a highly personal process, and finding the right fit matters. My practice is often a good fit for adults navigating trauma, neurodivergence, identity, relationship challenges, cultural complexity, and life transitions.

What kinds of clients do you work with? I work with  adults(18+) throughout Texas, including individuals, couples, and diverse relationship structures. Many of the people I work with are navigating trauma, ADHD, autism, anxiety, identity, cultural complexity, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the experience of living between different worlds and expectations. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodiversity affirming, and welcoming of multicultural clients, Adult TCKs, and those whose experiences don't fit neatly into a single category.

What does therapy with you actually look like? Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Some days we may be processing a difficult experience, working through a relationship challenge, exploring patterns that keep showing up, or using EMDR. Other days we may be focused on practical tools, problem-solving, or whatever happened over the weekend that suddenly jumped to the front of the line. Some clients find it helpful to continue the work between sessions through homework. It is always tailored to your needs and goals; it's not mandatory, and there's no counselor jail if you don't do it.

Do you offer virtual therapy, in-person therapy, or both?
Both. I offer in-person therapy in Addison, Texas, just north of Dallas; as well as, secure virtual therapy for adults throughout Texas.

Do you accept insurance? Yes, I am in-network with several insurance plans through Headway; including Aetna, Blue Cross and  Blue Shield of Texas, Quest Behavioral Health, Ascension, and select Blue Cross Blue Shield networks. If you're unsure whether your plan is covered feel free to reach out. I also offer private-pay sessions and reduced-fee appointments through Open Path Psychotherapy Collective, a nonprofit organization that helps make therapy more affordable and accessible.

What happens during the first session? The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin figuring out what feels most important to you. Some client come in with a clear idea of what they want to work on, while others aren't quite sure where to start; and both are completely okay. You can ask questions, I can ask questions, or we can simply start where you are. If you need to do a deep dive into everything that's been building up, we can do that. If you'd rather ease into the process and test the waters first, that's okay too. We move at a pace that feels comfortable and useful for you.

How often do people usually meet with you?  Different people need different levels of support at different times. Some clients prefer to meet weekly, while other prefer to meet every other week or monthly. The right frequency depends on your goals, needs, schedule, and what is happening in your life at the time. We can discuss what makes the most sense for you and adjust as needed along the way.

How do I get started? The easiest way to get started is by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation or reaching out through the Contact Form. We can discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you have a clear goal in mind or you're simply trying to make sense of what's been weighing on you, we can start there.
